2010 City Council meeting dates released

Dearborn City Council Meetings will be held at least once a month on either a Monday or Tuesday evening during 2010, according to the schedule recently released by the City Clerk’s Office.

All meetings are held at 7 p.m. at the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 13615 Michigan Avenue.

Following is the City Council Meeting schedule for 2010:

January Tuesday, Jan. 5 Tuesday, Jan. 19	July Monday, July 19
February Tuesday, Feb. 16	August Monday, Aug. 16
March Monday, March 1 Monday, March 15	September Tuesday, Sept. 7 Tuesday, Sept. 27
April Monday, April 19	October Monday, Oct. 11 Monday, Oct. 25
May Monday, May 3 Monday, May 17	November Monday, Nov. 15
June Monday, June 7 Monday, June 21	December Monday, Dec. 13

All meeting dates are subject to change. The council president sets the council meeting dates and these dates are set to avoid national holidays and other scheduling conflicts.

The council meetings do not adhere to a set schedule of meeting on the first and third Mondays of the month, although it has been that way in the past.

City Council also meets regularly for its Committee of the Whole meetings, which are in preparation of the council’s business meetings.
